HOT DAMN BEER+WINGS

HOT DAMN came to us wanting a logo and branding identity that replicated the experience you get when you’re in their restaurant. They wanted their brand to be led by strong visuals which complimented the aesthetic of their interior design, but also attracted a younger audience (ages 18–40). The restaurant itself is complete with pink neon lights, a really good playlist and an enthusiastic owner/chef named Ryan who dances amazingly. We knew instantly that HOT DAMN BEER + WINGS was a unique business to be working with.

Results

 

After finding out their primary aims and goals, we created an identity that replicated the unique, fun, musical experience we had. We wanted the brand to almost look more like a band than a brand, taking influences from music and fashion culture more so than from existing restaurants or food joints. Ryan stated that he wanted the brand to be something he could be really proud of – something that people could/would wear on merch, and something that people would want to post to their Instagram.

“We’re one of these places where you’ve got to be here to get it. But inevitably found ourselves a little brand-less, “how the f*ck do you put this on paper” kinda thing.

Enter Emily of Studio Hicks. Wowsa. The second she came in to chat, we knew we’d found the person to get the job done.

It’s a struggle working with gaffs like us, because we’re wrapped up in our “we do it best, we know exactly what we want” …but, as it turns out, Em knows better. She took the time to listen and get under the skin of the business, to find out what truly counts; the heart.

Within days, drafts and concepts were flying our way, a few slight alterations, carefully convoying through the minefield of “too much or too little” …with Em driving this badass troop, we found our way all the way to the goldmine. jackpot.

That was it, we had our format. Over to you Hicks. Let me tell you, she didn’t disappoint. Absolutely f*cking flawless.

Within her incredible brand guildline pack, every detail was carefully compiled and listed. concepts of the ideas we’d spoke of were portrayed exactly and her trademark “check this out” drop at the end. Wow.

It’s slightly annoying to find someone so talented, especially someone who makes it look so easy. But by god are we lucky to have her on board. Flawless, personal service at a competitive cost. Utter professionalism.

Studio Hicks is now the best and only company to use. Man up, you know what you need to do.
